Creating Landscape Lighting Design
By Sam Cyrus

A landscape lighting design can come up in many different ways. There are a few simple steps you can take to make you job easier and come out better in the long run, no matter which method you pick to do your landscape lighting design.

Things to Consider When Planning Your Landscape Lighting Design

To decide what landscape lighting kit you want to go with is the first thing you need to do. There are several options out there, but solar or wired are the most common choices. Solar systems are powered by the sun and then light up at night.  Wired systems plug into your house and need to be turned on each night. And the process is the same, no matter which system you go with.

After you have decided on what system to go, the first thing you need to consider is where to place your lights. Depending on the system you choose your landscape lighting design will be different. Either way you need to get out a tape measure and measure your yard.  Then take out some paper and draw out what you have measured. Then you can diagram your landscape lighting design once you have measured it out and drawn it out. Place down the lamps and lights where you want and make sure that you have enough light coverage for your yard. You are ready to set the system up after drawing everything out.

Take

a spray can and mark off the areas where you want your lamps go. This way you can step back and look at what the yard will look like with the lamps in. By doing this, you can visualize where the lights go and be able to see what your yard will look like with the lights in.

When you have done that and are satisfied with the placement of your landscape lighting design, you are ready to get the lights in the ground and get the system set up. You can put the lights in with confidence right after you have prepared everything properly. And this is when you know that your yard is going to look its best.

To make sure that your yard will look its best, you really need to take these steps. In this way, you can have your yard set up and looking great in no time. I hope that these will help you and lead your way to have the best and most beautiful landscape lighting design.
